GRAPHIC DESIGN

Turn your creativity into a career! In this class, you’ll be immersed in the world of advertising company products by designing logos, product packaging, and print ads using design software, where out-of-the-box thinkers collaborate to write, design, and produce the captivating annual Tech Times magazine, setting the stage for a future filled with endless opportunities in the dynamic field of creative communication. This is not a fine arts class.

Tell Stories. Solve Problems.

Graphic Designers tell stories with creative thinking and problem solving with images, words, or symbols.

Did you know designers must be great communicators? That’s right. A Graphic Designer’s job is to communicate their client’s brand and ideas. To do this they must:

  • have a strong foundation of design principles,
  • be good problem solvers, and
  • become continual learners to keep up with changes in marketing and advertising.

In our class, you will learn the basics of Graphic Design. You will understand what makes something visually appealing and why. By studying design principles like color, contrast, balance, and more, you will learn how to incorporate these skills into three software design programs.

Adobe Photoshop

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

Pixel Editing

Photoshop is the preferred photo editing software for this industry. You’ll be amazed at the number of techniques you will learn for editing photos, compositing multiple photos together, and digital paintings selections.

Adobe InDesign

ADOBE INDESIGN

Layout Editing

InDesign allows you to design multipage print and digital media like magazines and books. It is the industry-leading software for print and digital media.

Adobe Illustrator

ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR

Vector Editing

Illustrator allows you to create vector images. The format that lets you scale a graphic from the size you need on your phone to IMAX theater and stadium size and still look amazing. Where you can unleash your creativity and design anything you can dream of. It is the industry standard for graphics and illustrations like logo and brand creation, frontend design for mobile and desktop apps and websites, and single page layout designs.
